TFT Assassin Class Guidance
- Unless you really need a different team roster in order to make your composition work, you should get the minimum number of assassin champs necessary to earn the crit damage on ability bonus.
- Having a lot of assassin's gives you a lot of damage; however, be careful when dealing with CC or well placed tanks. If you can't eliminate the enemy team quickly, your squishy assassins will usually be taken down before you win.
Do you get the innate TFT assassin trait's bonus that allows critical hits to apply on all ability hits before you get the minimum number of champions?
Unfortunitally, you only get this bonus when you have the minimum set number of assassin champions in play at the same time. It is usually a good idea to have at least the minimum number of assassins as this provides a huge power spike for all champs with this trait.
I can make another one of my champions into an assassin, what should I consider before doing so?
One of the most important considerations is whether or not the prospective champion would survive well after jumping into the enemy team's back line. At the beginning of comat, all assassin's jump to their back line. As an example, a ranger would likely not be a good champion to give this trait to, as they'd lose the benefits of their greater range in doing so.
Should champs with the assassin trait in TFT stack AD or AP?
Because assassins are able to apply their critical hit bonus to ability hits, you can stack either AD or AP. It will really be dependent on the specific champion and situation. Check out our build pages for more specific guidance.
